Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the diced onion and garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Stir in the elbow macaroni, ensuring it’s fully submerged in the liquid. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  • If desired, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, use smoked paprika or add a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy kick. This dish tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld together.
